The person who is telling the story is Mike Rowe. This is a voice over narration TV show on Discovery Channel. Mike was chosen to narrate this show because his voice is very low and powerful which adds suspension to the show. Well the show does tell itself in a way but Mike explains what is really going on and not the obvious. The genre of this show is documentary and reality. Time is subject through real time and flashbacks. If a subject speaks of an event in the past, the show cuts to the event he was talking about( if they have the footage of that event). This is a realistic show and is filmed without a script and in the moment. Its an awesome show and is found on the Discovery Channel.
