Characterization: We see two sides of this woman that are addressed. One side is an agent working for another and is very determined to fulfill her bosses orders. The other side looks to be another character all together. This side reveals a sexy woman who uses this characteristc as a way of hiding her true colors to the public. She is the kind of person that may look accepting and very lovely, but it conveying the message: "Don't mess with me or you will pay the ultimate price."
Climax: All three of the main characters are in the scene as the final showdown takes place. The main antagonist realizes who he was after earlier in the film and he wants revenge. The main actress is positioned in the foreground showing she is preparing for the fight. The main antagonist is positioned in the mid ground and the focus on him is clear, showing that he is engaging the fight first hand. While the boss of the actress is positioned in the background showing that he is out of the picture and is just watching (at least for the time being). The actress does her best to fend him off and to keep him from getting the the mysterious box.

Resolution: We finally see what was concealed in the box and that was the end of the film. The ending didn't make that much sense though because there was no real ending to the film. I would have liked to see more information given to the audience at the end of film to give us a better understanding of what was happening of the film. It would have also been good if we were able to find out the purpose of all the keys that were left in the box. It would have made the ending a lot more clearer if that were the case.

Italian Neo-Realism

What started the Italian Neo realism movement in film was the Anti-Fascism which marked the post WW II period. The films main focuses were on the lives of innocent people during that period and their objective "focus on the collectivity rather than the individual." Their ideology was mainly "solidarity" and "criticism of the status quo" and their main goal was to push their filmmakers out of the studio and into on location settings in order to catch "Reality."

Movies made before this period were made in America where filmmakers portrayed the country as a paradise. However, the imported movies into Italy didn't reflect Italy's current state of being. Sadly the Italians were unable to watch films that showed what they were going through at that time. Then, Starting in the 1930's, an anti-fascist journalist by the name of Leo Longanesi urged film directors to move out of the studios and into the cities, streets, stations, etc, only in this way would a real form of Italian cinema be brought to life. During this time, Italy had switched from agriculture to manufacturing which made life tougher to get through. Because of this transition, many people were faced with poverty, in turn, lead to this movement which allowed them to express the country's reality. The philosophers wrote about the reality, like the writers. The reality had to be emphasized in order for the film to make its way. To the countries benefit, these films gave Italy a sense of freedom and affected all of Europe's film making Industry.


The film techniques used were: on location filming, with non-professional cast, unhappy endings, usually to reflect poverty and a sense of desperation, usually set in rural areas to show working class environments, its a staged style of documentary film making.



The two key contributors to Italian Realism are Jean Renoir's TONI and Alessandro Blassetti's 1860. These two films influenced Neo realism because these were one of the first neo realism films to used techniques such as shooting on location and using non professional actors wich of course were extremely rare at that time.



DeSica directed the Neo realism film The Bicycle Thief. This film reflects the hardships of unemployment and working conditions in post WWII Italy.



Luchino Visconti directed The Earths Temples. He used an entirely unprofessional cast in the film and it reflected life in a tough economic state. It recognized the honor and dignity that comes with a life that has been earned. and the cast speack in their first language.

These still images clearly show the cameras ability to capture clean images while in low light setups. The quality of the shots to this extent while in low light is extremely difficult to accomplish.
The shot of the girl is perfect quality especially in this lighting. This shot really demonstrates how the camera used in this film, is able to capture shots in low light. The ripples in the water are clearly visible and the don't look like they deformed in any way. This camera so sharp, I bet it could see a pin on the floor fifty feet away. The shot with the car driving past the shot is crystal clear. There is no grain in any part of the frame. This again demonstrates the cameras ability to capture the low light shots. If any other camera were to capture this shot. I know it would be an epic failure. There would be grain all over the frame, and the whole thing would be a complete mess. But not this camera. This one Rocks. The Shot of the city from the helicopter had light from the buildings to make the image clearer, but its still pretty low light. People would think that the quality of the shot would be impossible to get because of the low light, but its possible with this type of camera. With all that said about this camera, GO OUT AND BUY ONE KIDS!!

The Shot reverse shot sequence was pretty good. I think a little bit more time on the precision of the shots would have made it a little bit better. It does demonstrate the concept really well and the voice over clearly states the concept and tells the audience what is going on. Other than what could have gone better, It was still a pretty good piece.


The Flashback audio was horrible besides the voice over. I don't know what happened to it but that's how it turned out. As far as camera position and cutting goes, it couldn't have gone any better. The camera position really demonstrates the concept and the editing of the actual flashback really shows what a flashback is and what it looks like.
