Solitude Analysis

The lighting setup throughout the trailer was relatively dark and low key. I chose this still image because I feel it represents how the lighting was used to create this dark atmosphere around the characters. It gives the audience a look at what the film will contain. It's a dark film and it has a dark story line and of course, some dark things will happen. The shot of the phone beeping, shows that it was recently used and something had happened to the one who was using it. The camera placement shows the phone as the main object and the characters in the blurry background. While the phone is beeping it is natural for at least one character to approach it to investigate. The location, what looks to be a school hallway, is perfect for this film. It acts a maze with different hallways and doors all around them. It creates a feeling of fear in the audience because they don't know what will come out of a door, around a corner or anywhere else. The lighting also plays as the fear factor of the scene because of the dark environment in itself.
